Former Ohio State cornerback, Gareon Conley, a top prospect in the upcoming NFL draft, has been accused of raping a woman on April 9th at the Westin Hotel in downtown Cleveland.
According to a police report obtained by USA Today, Conley met the woman while riding an elevator at the hotel with two friends. Conley invited the woman back to her room, where the assault reportedly took place. She alleges that after she declined group sex with Conley and his two friends, Conley had sex with her and kicked her out of his room. The woman reported the incident and went to a local hospital where a rap kit was administered. In the police report, Conley’s friends said nothing happened between Conley and his accuser and that she was angry that he asked her to leave.
Gareon Conley has been expected to go top-10 in the draft. With an ongoing, active investigation of sexual assault, it is likely that his stock in the draft would drop.
Conley’s attorney has denied the allegations, referring to the claims as “ridiculous and ludicrous.”
