Former Lakers Point Guard Derek Fisher had $300,00 in jewelry and his five NBA championship rings stolen from his Tarzana home Monday morning, said police.
According to LAPD Officer Liliana Preciado, a person or persons entered Fisher’s home between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. and stole the jewels.
Los Angeles police say burglars got away with more than $300,000 worth of jewelry which included five NBA championship rings from his time with the Los Angeles Lakers.The home was unoccupied at the time.
Fisher did not want to go on camera but told Eyewitness News that he is doing OK. He said he is just going through the process with police who are trying to track down the burglars.
Police did not reveal how the suspects got into the residence, and they’re also not revealing if any surveillance video was obtained.
The investigation was ongoing.
Fisher played 18 season in the NBA and won five championship with the Los Angeles Lakers. After retiring, Fisher went on to become the Head Coach of the New York Knicks from 2014 to 2016. He has since been working as a broadcast analyst, covering the NBA.
In 2015, Derek Fisher made headlines for an altercation involving former Lakers teammate, Matt Barnes. Fisher is currently dating Barnes’ ex-wife Gloria Govan.
